BRINGING BACK THE SAKER FALCON TO BULGARIA

An environmental initiative by Armeec Jsc

November 1, 2012 saw the launch of Armeec’s environmental initiative entitled Bringing Back the Saker Falcon to Bulgaria! This project aims to support the efforts of the Green Balkans Federation towards rebuilding the Saker Falcon population in Bulgaria.

In an effort to support the protection of biodiversity Armeec donates 0.50 Bulgarian Leva for every Vehicle Casco policy it sells to be used for the accomplishment of this worthy cause. Vehicle Casco Insurance commands a major share of the company’s product portfolio and ZAD Armeec has been the market leader since 2011 which means that donations are stable.

The project includes activities such as healing, rehabilitating, breeding and reintroducing the Saker Falcon which had become extinct in Bulgaria into the wild. The newly constructed incubation room and the new generations of baby Saker Falcons hold the promise that Armeec’s project will succeed.

Reintroducing an extinct species back into the wild is an extremely complicated process which can take many years of effort before any real results are accomplished. Armeec Insurance is happy to contribute to the charitable initiative of restoring the population of this rare species in Bulgaria and supports the operations of the Green Balkans’ Wildlife Rescue Center in Stara Zagora.
