Personal accident of sportsmen
The Personal Accident of Sportsmen insurance
is taken out on a voluntary basis. Covered under this insurance are Bulgarian and foreign sportsmen engaged in sports as amateurs or professionals as well as coaches and sports referees.
The insurance is issued to persons aged from 16 to 69 years, who actively practice any kind of sport. Individual or group policies can be taken out (for sports teams, associations and clubs).
The insurance covers events (accidents), occurring in sports halls, stadiums and sports facilities during trainings and competitions.
- The following basic risks are covered under the policy:
- Death, resulting from an accident occurring while training or during competitions
- Permanent disability resulting from an accident occurring while training or during competitions.
- At the request of the client the following additional risks can be covered:
- Death resulting from a home accident ;
- Permanent disability resulting from a home accident;
- Temporary disability resulting from an accident occurring while training or during competitions;
- Temporary disability resulting from a home accident;
- Medical expenses and/or repatriation resulting from an accident occurring while training or during competitions;
- Medical expenses and/or repatriation resulting from a home accident;
- Daily expenses during stay at hospital resulting from an accident occurring while training or during competitions.
- The cost of insurance
depends on the risks covered, the sum insured and the risk class to which the practiced sport belongs.
