Bulgaria Wins Ten Gold Medals at the European Kyokushin Championship
Armeec’s own Yordan Yanev became a three-time European Champion
The Kyokushin World Federation’s Kyokushin Karate European Championship took place on May 16 through May 17 in Estonia. Competitors were divided in four age groups: men under 21, women under 21, men and women.
The Bulgarian Kyokushin Karate Federation, supported as always by its sponsor, Armeec Insurance, was represented by a considerable number of fighters as it pursued its ambition to reinforce its place among the elite in this sport in Europe. Team Bulgaria’s fighters won a total of 18 medals - 10 gold, 7 silver, and 1 bronze. On the first day of the competition our men and women under 21 won seven European Titles, four silver medals, and one bronze medal. On the second day, in the men’s and women’s competitions Team Bulgaria’s fighters won three gold and three silver medals.
What makes this accomplishment that much sweeter is the fact that our colleague, Yordan Yanev, became the European Kyokushin Champion in the Heavyweight Division for the third time and won the men’s Best Fighter Prize. Yanev win his previous titles in Spain in 2012 and in Greece in 2014.
Armeec Insurance has always supported the sport of Kyokushin Karate and has contributed to its promotion in Bulgaria.
