On St. Nicholas Day Armeec became a godparent to a ship
Tsvetanka Krumova christened the renovated m/v Tornado
On 6 December 2012, on the day of St. Nicholas, the patron of sailors, the fully reconstructed and renewed motor ship Tornado of Bulgarian River Shipping (BRS) was officially christened and launched.
This is the fifth renovated pusher vessel of BRS. The reconstruction was completed for six months by the technical experts of BRS with the assistance of local companies. The amount of invested funds totalled nearly 3 million levs.
The event took place at pontoon № 5 on the Danube and was attended by the deputy regional governors of Ruse Veselin Marinov and Adrian Raykov, the deputy mayor of territory planning Dimitar Nakov, Dobromir Kochanov - CEO of BRS and Georgi Ivanov - Director of the Executive Agency "Maritime Administration"- Ruse branch. Mrs. Tsvetanka Krumova, CEO of Armeec, became a godmother to the ship and broke the champagne in its hull.
Bulgarian River Shipping - Ruse is the biggest Bulgarian shipowner on the river Danube and has 24 pusher motor vessels and 100 non-selfpropelled vessels. In recent years, BRS has been conducting an ambitious program to expand and renew its fleet.
